Called the “Vista House”, this was built in 1933 by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The CCC was a public work-relief program for unemployed, unmarried men ages 17-28, in the “Great Depression”. Along with food, clothes and shelter, they earned $30 each month, $25 of which was sent home to their families,The stone and timber was from the local area … and this indeed is an amazing building!
